Horsham RSL

Conference Room, McLachlan Street Horsham, VIC 3400 Australia

Description

When it comes to tackling illegal drugs, it’s important to have a game plan. The Tackling Illegal Drugs Program is all about preparing sporting clubs to address illegal drug-related issues for if or when they occur.

What your club will get out of the Forum:

  • Learn what to do if drugs are found in a club.
  • Understand how to respond if a person is using or under the influence of drugs.
  • Learn what to do if someone is found dealing drugs.

About the program

Funded by the Australian government and coordinated by Good Sports, the Tackling Illegal Drugs Program will help sports clubs have the conversation about illegal drugs. With an issue as widespread as illegal drug use, it’s important that all clubs are prepared.

You can find out more about the program here.

The forum

The Tackling Illegal Drugs forum will bring clubs together so they can build networks in the local area and receive the information and expert support they need to address potential drug-related issues.

Individual clubs are then encouraged to show leadership in their community and use that knowledge to create an illegal drugs policy.

The forum will be supported by the Wimmera Drug Action Taskforce and Wimmera Regional Sports Assembly who are working closely with the community to help prevent harms from alcohol and other drugs.

All community sporting clubs in the Horsham area are invited to attend. The forum is being held from 7.00 - 9.00pm on Wednesday 27 February, at Horsham RSL Conference Room.

Clubs will learn more about illegal drugs and why it’s such an important issue to prioritise.
